LaughFest Kicks Off With A World Record Breaking Stunt

LaughFest 2013 kicked off last night, March 7th in Rosa Parks Circle.  Over 1,500 people from all over West Michigan came downtown to help break an odd world record.  The record they were trying to beat was the most people with fake mustaches in one area at one time.

The previous record was held by a group 648 participants in St. Louis, Missouri. Grand Rapids crushed the record with a total of 1,544 participants.  The record still needs to be certified by the Guinness World Records before it becomes official.

LaughFest also holds 2 other Guinness World Records.  In 2012, 607 people performed the chicken dance while wearing chicken beaks.  And in 2011, 925 rubber chickens were tossed into the air, breaking the previous record of 265.
