Northview Earns First Regional Title

The Wildcats edged past West Ottawa, 50-45, to win Region 3 in Grand Haven. Northview rallied from three points down in the final six minutes to get the win.

6-8 center Jalen Charity had 19 points in the win.

Northview will face Kalamazoo Central in Tuesday's quarterfinals. The game will be played a Middleville Kellogg High, tipping off at 7pm.

"Everybody's got a plan until you get into a fight, and that's what it was tonight," Northview coach David Chana told FOX 17 following the win. "Our kids figured it out at the end, so I'm proud of them for that."

Catholic Central Continues Its Quest For Back To Back Titles

Meanwhile, at Forest Hills Eastern, Catholic Central's Cougars ran past Whitehall 95-63 to earn its second straight Region 11 Trophy.

Catholic rolled off a 23-0 run in the first quarter and never looked back. Defense was king for CC, as the Cougars forced 20 Viking turnovers, and converted those for 20 points.

Catholic now returns to Calvin University's Van Noord Arena to face Benton Harbor in quarterfinal action Tuesday night at 7pm.

Tri-Unity Christian Shuts Down High Flying New Buffalo

In Division 4, Tri-Unity Christian's Defenders did what they do best: Defend. New Buffalo was averaging 82 points per game entering the Region 29 title tilt played on New Buffalo's home floor.

But Tri-Unity, the Alliance League champs, shut them down, and held them to less than half that in a 57-40 championship win. Brady Titus had 35 points and seven rebounds for the Defenders.

Even more amazing is the fact that new Buffalo scored half of their points in the fourth quarter, after the game was out of reach.

The Defenders, who are now 18-6 on the season, will square off with Adrian Lenawee Christian Tuesday at Portage Northern High School.
