M-STEP test results are out, except for science scores, because the Michigan Department of Education is refusing to share them for two years.

You can quickly look up your school's M-STEP results for math, social studies and English language arts, but you'll find the current science scores are missing.

The Michigan Department of Education is refusing to share science scores with anyone, even parents, because the test is still being developed.

The Detroit News says "this is happening even though the state hasn't received a waiver from the U.S. Department of Education to hold back the science tests scores."

The Michigan Department of Education applied for a waiver on August 9, even though they've known about the change since last year and they know the U.S. Department of Education has 120 days to respond to the request.

Students, don't try pulling this with one of your teachers. You'll fail your class.

The Michigan Department of Education said in a press release, "Local school districts will receive district-level aggregate results to get a general view of how their students performed on the science field test and is not intended to provide any indication of student proficiency."

That's even worse. So they ARE sharing scores to a degree, but just not with students or parents.

Will there be issues with the test and the early results? Probably, but the transparency of the process is also important to local educators, parents and students.

Look up the M-STEP test results of any Michigan school, district, city or county. After clicking the link search for your school, district, city or county, then drop down the student data menu, then hit the performance option.
