Michigan Has The 5th Lowest Average Beer Prices In The Country
Drink up, Michiganders, we've got something to celebrate. According to a recent study done by Simple Thrifty Living, Michigan has the 5th lowest beer prices in the country.
The study was previously conducted in 2017 and at that time, Michigan actually had the lowest average beer prices in the country. But in the last 2 years, we lost that title to Illinois and are now in 5th place overall.
States With The Lowest Average Beer Prices In The US
- Illinois ($15.20 for a 24-pack)
- South Carolina ($15.32 for a 24-pack)
- New York ($15.98 for a 24-pack)
- Rhode Island ($15.98 for a 24-pack)
- Michigan ($16.07 for a 24-pack)
Kansas ($16.07 for a 24-pack)
The methodology used by Simple Thrifty Living is to compare the prices of a 24-pack of Bud Light and Miller Lite in up to 10 different zip codes. You can read more about how the study was conducted here.
And, if we dig a little deeper and rank by city, it turns out that Grand Rapids has the 4th lowest average beer prices in the nation.
