This story is wrong on so many accounts, not the least of which is his choice of "companion".

We live in a high tech world, and we can now keep track of things going on in our home when we're not there. And that may not be a good thing.

A case in point, a young mother was hard at work at her job when her phone beeped a notice from the nanny cam in her child's room.

"That's weird," she probably thought. "My kid's at day care."

So she opened the app to see the housing inspector in her kid's room. "Oh, yeah, I forgot he was coming today," she would have thought, relieved that no one had busted into her home.

But what she saw next floored her, I'm sure.

The inspector picked up a Tickle Me Elmo doll and began to, how can we delicately say this, um, er, "pleasure himself" with it.

That poor woman can never unsee that.

Look. Even leaving Elmo out of it for a second. Why would do that while at work?

Okay, don't answer that. I don't want to know.

According to the Detroit Free Press, the incident occurred in Oxford Township, north of Detroit on March 12. The inspector has been charged with aggravated indecent exposure and malicious destruction of property. (I'll say!)

He did return Elmo to his rightful place after he was done, if that's any consolation.

“Just when I think I have seen it all, someone steps up and surprises me with a new level of disturbing actions,” Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard said in a news release.

That may be the understatement of the day.
