These fuzzy caterpillars may look cute and harmless, but don't touch them! If you do, you could get a rash that last for days.

The Clare Chamber of Commerce recently shared on Facebook that an American Dagger Caterpillar was spotted at Mid Michigan College's campus.

American Dagger caterpillars are covered in white or yellow hair, and black bristles that contain toxins that can break off and embed in the skin.

Many curious children have unwittingly picked up these big, fuzzy, bright creatures and consequently experienced a burning, itching sensation on their skin which can develop into a rash."

They say the caterpillar can be found in Michigan, Illinois, and other spots in the midwest this time of year.
