The Wolverines will take one of the countriy's top defenses and square off against one of the top offenses with the Villanova Wildcats in the men's NCAA college basketball tournament Monday night. Game time is 9:20 p.m. on TBS.

According to WOOD TV, many of the Michigan players were overlooked by many of the high profile programs. Charles Mathews was the only recruit that was ranked in the top 100 and even he played for Kentucky before transferring to Michigan.

Other Wolverines, like Mo Wagner, had very limited American schools scouting them. Duncan Robinson was playing Division 3 basketball before transferring to Michigan.

Wolverine coach, John Beilein, told WOOD-TV8's Casey Jones,

It's such an inexact science. I don't think you can ever do the numbers of the three stars and two stars that turn out to be five stars in four years and the five stars that turn out to be three stars in four years and it happens like every day.

Jaaron Simmons, who was a transfer from Ohio, told Jones and WOOD-TV,

We got guys that want to work hard and be the best that they can be. I think that, that can just bleed to bleed to the rest of the team and brings us together and makes us want to be great.
