The FDA is warning people not to use makeup from Claire’s because it has tested positive for containing asbestos ClickonDetroit reports.

According to the ClickonDetroit story, the FDA reached out to Claire’s about the makeup and told them they should recall the products in question but that Claire’s refused to issue the recall and the FDA doesn’t have the authority to force them.

So instead the FDA is warning people to avoid the makeup.

The FDA conducted the tests after learning of reports of asbestos in products sold by retailers Claire’s and Justice in 2017.

The company, Justice, did recall the products, but all Claire’s did was quit selling the products, they never told customers about the asbestos.

Here's more from the FDA on the 2017 findings and what makeup products are included.
