After the commercial and artistic success of their 2012 and 2013 tours, the Monkees are taking the show on the road once again. The group have announced a 14-date tour that kicks off in New Hampshire and winds up in Cleveland. There are also stops in Detroit and Merrillville, Ind., in suburban Chicago.

"Can't wait to hang out with Papa Nez and the Torkmiester," Dolenz said in prepared statement. "Looking forward to great music, great fun and truck-stop chili dogs at 4 a.m."

The three surviving members of the legendary act regrouped following the passing of Davy Jones in early-2012. It was the first time Michael Nesmith had joined his mates on a full-fledged U.S. tour since he first left the band in 1970, although he was on a 1997 U.K. tour.  "Happy to be going back out playing the music," Nesmith said in a press release. "Sure we will have fun."

The tour was first announced at the recent Monkees Convention in New Jersey.

“Why don't we do a tour?” Dolenz told the convention crowd, “Why don't we do a tour in the middle of May? Does that sound like a good idea?” Ultimately confirming, “We're doing it. We are touring.”

In conjunction with the tour, Rhino Records is issuing a deluxe three-disc version of their 1966 debut album. Nesmith is also heading out on his own for a few stops.

"I'm off on another solo tour in April and May -- Movies of the Mind -- before I go out with the Monkees," he announced on his Facebook page.
