Need a job or maybe just an extra way to make money? Dust off that resume because UPS is hiring.

A press release from the company says that the shipping industry is facing a shortage and are in need of workers, specifically package handlers so UPS is looking to hire 150 people in the Grand Rapids area. Currently, all the jobs are part time but there's a really good chance that'll turn into a full-time gig since 56% of their workforce started off in part-time positions. This isn't a seasonal job so you don't have to worry about your job eventually coming to an end. UPS says these are permanent positions.

Pay begins at $17/hour depending on location and shift. Yearly raises are part of the job and UPS offers benefits such as healthcare, retirement plans, and tuition assistance. In fact, students can earn up to $25,000 towards their college studies.

UPS has invested nearly $670 million in tuition assistance – nearly $30 million a year since the program was established in 1997 – helping over 300,000 employees pay for their college education.

Their location at 5757 Clyde Park SW in Wyoming is the one looking to fill these slots.

The company says that this is great opportunity for someone to start a new career if they found themselves displaced because of the pandemic.
