Seafood lovers have a new option in Grand Rapids.

According to their Facebook page, Yummy Crab is now open for carry out and "self-service seating" at 2030 28th St SE.

Looks like they have a huge selection of seafood!

Their menu includes fried shrimp and fish baskets, white or fried rice, clams, crawfish, crab legs, mussels, lobster tails, and oysters. You can also order different combinations and then pick your seasoning- cajun, garlic butter, lemon pepper, garlic butter, or Old Bay -  and your spice level. Baskets come with fries and meals come with corn and potato.

Yummy Crab's Facebook page first caught my eye in February and I wondered about an opening date. Then of course, the pandemic hit. Yummy Crab shared an update in April saying opening was delayed due to the pandemic, and to stay tuned for updates.  October 5, 2020 Yummy Crab announced they were they were now open for takeout.

According to their website, there are five other Yummy Crab locations: two in North Carolina, two in Illinois, and one in Omaha, Nebraska.

I did some digging and found a news story about Yummy Crab in Gastonia, North Carolina, which opened in May, 2020, after the initial opening was delayed by the pandemic. According to the article, the chain is owned by Lee Zhang. Another story about the opening of Yummy Crab in Peoria, Illinois says Zhang owns a variety of Asian and seafood restaurants in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, and Pennsylvania .

Yummy Crab Grand Rapids is open Sunday through Thursday noon to 10p.m. and Friday and Saturday noon to 10:30p.m.
