After working on the concept for the last year-and-a-half the co-owners of Wonderland Distilling, Muskegon’s newest craft distillery, opened the cocktail bar in Muskegon’s Lakeside neighborhood this week. According to the press release the bar serves,

...handcrafted cocktails, created using exclusively Wonderland spirits, along with locally-sourced small plates focused on local ingredients.

The ingredients that the distillery uses for their spirits and food is inspired by the state's great outdoors, specifically along the Lake Michigan shoreline. The menu has 10 speciality cocktails that will change with seasons or upon customer request plus tons of the classics. Small plates have been created to pair with the cocktails such as

...wild game charcuterie plate, a hummus platter and a steak focaccia flatbread sandwich.

Wonderland cocktail bar is located across a marina and the theme is nautical to represent that. One wall will be dedicated to pictures of Lake Michigan that'll change with the seasons and local artists were hired to paint murals throughout the building.

The 3,800 sq. foot place is able to accommodate 149 people but is currently operating at half the capacity. There's a bar area plus lounge spaces and a private room for events or meetings.

The owners pride themselves on helping Muskegon "grow and thrive" and already have community collaborations in the works with local businesses, including Hey, Sugar, Soap Dude Cosmetics, and Lumbertown Coffee.

The bar’s hours are

  • Sunday: noon-9 p.m.
  • Monday through Thursday: 3-10 p.m.,
  • Friday: 3-11 p.m.
  • Saturday: noon-11 p.m.

Wonderland Distilling Co. is located at 1989 Lakeshore Drive.
