Wise Men Distillery opened its main Kentwood location in 2019. They had plans to open the tasting room downtown back in 2020 but that was delayed due to the pandemic.

Wise Men says its products can be found at retailers such as Sam’s Club, Walmart and Meijer. The Distillery says the try to use fresh, local products whenever possible, including “tart apples from Northern Michigan, corn from West Michigan farms and rich maple syrup tapped from Michigan’s maple trees."

Tom Borisch, who co-founded the distillery with Jason Post and Zack Van Dyke told Mlive,

"Although there have been challenges in the past year, opening just in time for the Festival and amidst a vibrant business culture in downtown Grand Rapids is a dream come true, it’s another important milestone in the phenomenal growth we have experienced in a relatively short time."

"Michigan’s broad agricultural base allows us to constantly think outside the bottle and infuse flavors that our customers have really embraced."

The new downtown tasting room will be open from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays and from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturdays. It will be open from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday.
