GIlda's Club of Grand Rapids is the place to be this Saturday, October 29 as the annual 'Noogiefest' takes place.

Noogiefest Honors A Classic Gilda Radner SNL Sketch

The late, great comedian Gilda Radner was honored by the creation of Golda's Club, which exists to aid those who have a family member suffering from cancer, and the west side location of Gilda's is hosting 'Noogiefest' this weekend, named after the noogies Todd (played by Bill Murray) would give Lisa (Gilda Radner) in the classic '70s SNL bit about two nerds in love with each other.

For the last twenty years the Rosloniec family has volunteered at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids to transform the clubhouse into a friendly haunted house for their annual Halloween NoogieFest celebration. This year’s event will be on Saturday, Oct. 29 from 1-3 p.m., for West Michigan families to participate in spookily exciting activities at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids 1806 Bridge Street NW location.

Halloween Fun Is The Name Of The Game At Noogiefest

Kids of all ages and their families can participate in friendly ghoulish games, crafts, activities and enjoy creepy cuisine. There will be professional pumpkin carving demonstrations and attendees will have a chance to take home the carved pumpkins in a free raffle.

Halloween NoogieFest will culminate in a magician show for attendees to enjoy together. Those attending are encouraged to wear costumes. Please note, Gilda’s asks costumes not include weapons or masks that fully cover the face or head.

Gilda’s Club Grands Rapids’ Youth Program has a wide range of opportunities specifically designed for kids and teens impacted by grief or cancer, whether they are living with cancer themselves, know someone living with cancer or know someone who died due to any cause.

Gilda’s Club utilizes age-appropriate support and educational activities to meet youth where they are.  Included in the Youth Program is Noogieland, a special place in the clubhouse at Gilda’s Club Grand Rapids where kids can be kids, connect with other children and families, and see that they are not alone.
