The first weekend in October will be a chilly one throughout the state, and the snow has already begun to fly.

We jumped quickly into late fall weather around the state this week, as the first week of October signaled a dip in the temperatures, with frost a possibility both Saturday and Sunday mornings.

The good news is that the sun and more seasonable temperatures will return next week, with sunshine and highs in the 60s. The long range October forecast is for warmer temps and dry conditions through the middle of the month.

Bust just in case you need a reminder of what's just around the corner, Marquette recorded its first snow shower of the season, a little lake effect blast on Friday morning.

Winter is coming.

But at least we don't have to worry about the White Walkers from north of the wall. (Sorry, I couldn't resist a Game of Thrones mention)
