A $1,000 reward is being offered for information on vandalism and a fire that destroyed a maintenance building and caused an estimated $300,000 dollars in damage at an Ottawa County park.

The incident occurred at Grose Park in Chester Township in the early morning hours of September 14, 2021.

According to MLive, police have called the fire "highly suspicious."

Ottawa County says the building, which contained a truck, tractors, and other equipment is a total loss due to the suspected arson.

The bathroom facilities were also severely damaged. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office estimates the damage to the restrooms, storage building, furnishings, tools, equipment and vehicles inside the building are estimated to be at least $300,000.

Ottawa County Sheriff's Office Detectives have continued the investigation and have been assisted by Michigan State Police Arson Investigators.

In an attempt to further the investigation, a $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the successful prosecution of the suspect or suspects involved in the incident.
