It's a new year and 'SNL' is back.

Continuing their 43rd season, late night comedy sketch show Saturday Night Live kicked off their first episode of 2018 last night (January 13). Along with a new episode came Sam Rockwell making his hosting debut on the show while singer Halsey was the night's musical guest.

After winning "Best Supporting Actor" at the 2018 Golden Globes last weekend for Three Billboards, Rockwell switched gears and joined the 'SNL' crew to have some fun with comedy sketches. From a twist to the film Captain Hook, a "real look" to how it feels to be a host on a PBS kids show, a parody of Lil Pump's "Gucci Gang" paying homage to actor Stanley Tucci, and an opening monologue that could give The Greatest Showman a run for its money, Rockwell showcases his capabilities of being more than just a supporting actor, but a lead as well.
