When one of the best places in Grand Rapids for foodies, the Downtown Market, is hosting a free end-of-the-summer event this Friday, 9/11.

'Sip & Savor' will be held under the market's shed outdoors so you can safety and social distancing is assured. During the evening, people will be able to "savor" food from one of the many vendors and "sip" from a number of happy hour beverages. Although, for me, it'll be more of a "gulp" than a sip. Happy hour specials include $2 PBR, $4 12-ounce craft beer, and $6 canned cocktails.

A few end-of-summer “savor” options include Fish Lad’s lobster roll featuring Maine lobster; Juju Bird’s hot chicken sandwich on a butter brioche bun, served with crispy fries; and Pho 616’s classic chicken or beef pho soup, simmered for 10 hours (via Grand Rapids Business Journal).

Of course, no summer would be complete without ice cream which you can get at Love's Ice Cream & Chocolate.

Sip & Savor will be held from 5p-7p and is also dog-friendly!

Last month, we learned Social Kitchen & Bar, inside the market, had chosen not to renew their lease leaving Slows Bar BQ as the only full-sized restaurant. You can see a list of all the current vendors at the Downtown Market here.
