Spectrum Health Launches Curbside Vaccinations at 40+ Locations

With America still in the middle of a pandemic, and now approaching flu season, residents now more than ever are encouraged to get their vaccines and stay up-to-date.

To get more people vaccinated, Spectrum Health has launched one of the first vaccination programs in the Midwest, now available at over 40 locations in West Michigan. The service allows people to get their shots while staying in the comfort of their vehicles, also taking away the process of the waiting room. This also helps families who fell behind on their shots due to cancelled appointments during quarantine.

This new curbside service is for all ages (including childhood vaccinations) and includes many immunizations, injections and tests as well as blood pressure checks.

This also includes the flu shot, strep tests, and B12 injections.

An appointment must be made in advance either online, by calling 877-362-8362 and requesting an appointment, or via the Spectrum Health app.

Spectrum set up a test pilot before expanding, and say appointments usually last no more than 10 minutes.

An Immunization Specialist at Spectrum said that in the last couple of years the state saw a rising number of cases of Measles, Mumps, and Hepatitis A -- all preventable.

We are hoping this new service will ease people’s minds and make it easier to keep up on necessary vaccinations.

Because of COVID-19, pharmacies such as Walgreens and CVS offered flu shots early this year.
