Sometimes you want a fresh baked cookie, but you don't want to actually bake one. Here's how to get the straight out of the oven texture from a store bought cookie.

Lets be real here. This isn't rocket science.

Last night my wife and I were wanting some cookies, however, we weren't feeling like baking. So, we stopped by Meijer and grabbed some cookies from the bakery.

I've never met a cookie I didn't like. I like crunchy cookies, and I like soft cookies. What I don't like are soft cookies they go hard. Don't get me wrong. I'll eat them but they're best when they come straight out of the oven.

So in lieu of not cooking these cookies in the oven, I'll throw them in the microwave for 11 seconds. Results? Heavenly.

Of course your mileage may vary based on how soft you like your cookies / how much wattage your microwave puts out. But the fun is finding the sweet spot while curing your sweet tooth.

Some microwaves it'll take 8 seconds, others nearly 15.

The elusive sweet spot for me on a cookie is, warm and gooey, but still able to hold its shape. Too short of time in the microwave it's still hard, too much a gooey mess. If you go longer than 30 seconds it'll probably be burned and nasty. That's cookie abuse my friend and I'm not having it.

Obviously, the BEST cookies are homemade. But, in a pinch, bakery cookies warmed up a little will sooth my Christmas cookie soul.

Full disclosure: I ate like 2 cookies this morning before filming this video mainly as an excuse to eat another one. ... Diet starts 1/1/17!
