If you're looking to relax or you're looking for a calming place to take mom for Mother's day, the Summerhouse Lavender Farm in Saugatuck is opening this weekend.1200 lavender plants have been planted and are waiting for your nose! They kick off their opening celebrations this Saturday and Sunday from 11 to 5. They’ll be open the rest of the summer with a new yoga series, plus full bloom in late June/early July. Summerhouse Lavender Farm is located just 10 minutes outside of downtown Saugatuck. The address is 2975 65th Street in Fennville.

They also offer peaceful gardens, bird feeders, exotic trees and plants, a Zen garden, fountains, and many small sitting spaces. The Summerhouse Lavender Farm says,

"We want to help as many people as we can to be calm, to experience stress less ease, to reconnect with the plants, the smells, the wind, the grass, the sun, and the peace these bring to our souls."

To kick off the season, artists from West Michigan including Cynthia McKean, a renowned steel sculptor, painter Dawn Stafford of Peachbelt Studio, ceramicist Mike Vermeriss will be on hand. This is a "you pick" farm but you can also purchase gifts at their lavender shop or online.
