GRPD had quite a Saturday morning as two officers and a suspect was injured after a short chase on the west side of Grand Rapids.

According to the Facebook post, Police arrived after a call of a “trouble with a person” . As officers were trying to talk to the man, he jumped into a vehicle and ran from GRPD.  GRPD tried to do traffic stop to apprehend the guy, but he took off hitting a couple more cars on the road.

After that, the Facebook post goes on to say that officers gave a short chase of the vehicle before the suspect crashed and ran off. Officers were able to catch and arrest the suspect, which they found out he also had felony warrants for his arrest and the crashed vehicle was stolen.

The GRPD Facebook post says that two officers were injured (non-life threatening) during the incident, one while subduing the suspect.  The suspect also sustained injuries during the crash and arrest. All were treated and released.

Police are still investigating, if anyone has any info on the guy or the chase, please call GRPD 616-456-3400 or Silent Observer.
