With all the bad press the NFL is getting these days, it's refreshing to come across a story where we can all cheer a player.

Damn Jimmy V Foundation. They used to use sports figures to recite the famous Jim Valvano speech from the ESPYS. Now they are using kids and parents of kids with cancer. I hate crying at TV commercials. Maybe it's because I'm tired. Maybe it's because like so many cancer has touched my family.

John McVie. The Fleetwood Mac bassist is taking a leave of absence from the band to undergo cancer treatment. The band announced the bad news on their Facebook Page and then confirmed the news to Rolling Stone over the weekend.

They always say celeb's die in 3's. First this week it was Donna Summer. Word has come in that Peter Jones, drummer from Crowded House has passed. Now, after a long illness, Robin Gibb from the Bee Gees has died at 62. He had been suffering from cancer for the past couple of years. A month ago Gibb was close to death in a coma, but came out of it and was looking to make a recovery.
