Volunteers are planning to work throughout the weekend in Grand Rapids to fill thousands of sandbags as part of an effort to hold off West Michigan floodwaters. Several media outlets were reporting Friday morning that 1,200 sandbags had already been filled, but the city is hoping to fill 50,000 of them in order to keep the Grand River at bay...

Some of us are considering buying the supplies to build an ark if this rain doesn't let up soon. I think it's a solid plan. On the heels of Australia's massive flooding, devastating landslides and floods have befallen parts of Brazil. According to Reuters, at least 443 people have been found dead thus far and Bloomberg is reporting that thousands have been rendered homeless.
