The sixth annual Grandwich competition opens July 5 in Grand Rapids. 34 restaurants will create their best Grand Rapids sandwich, then the public and a panel of judges will choose which sandwich is the best.

Grandwich, the annual quest to find a new and unique sandwich for Grand Rapids is up and running. Among this year's offerings: a Cuban pork sandwich named after a TV character and something I've never heard of before called 'pulled bacon'.
