As has been stated in other posts, food places and marketers find ANYWAY possible to tie in a giveaway or a promotion to a day on the calender. For the first time I can remember, the start of Daylight Saving Time is now being turned into a promotion.

On my calendar, there are lots of free food opportunities. Free smoothies, free sandwiches, free fries and the such. AND free donuts. Usually National Donut Day (or free donut day) is in June. Now I'm watching Take 5 and Company on TV 13 THEY say TODAY is "National Donut Day"? I'm confused.

Yes, I know, even though today is Halloween, Christmas has already started. At least that's what the folks at Target tell me. Well there still are a few hours of Halloween left, and you can score free food from Krispy Kreme!

Wednesday the 19th is "Talk Like a Pirate Day". You know, Arrrhhhggg me mateys! Of course it's fun to talk like a pirate, getting free stuff for talking like a pirate is even better! 75 years ago, in Winston-Salem North Carolina, the first Krispy Kreme store opened. This, the first White Castle, and the first McDonalds location openings are holidays in my house, so I'll see you on Monday! Have a great weekend!
