Before you buy a puppy as someone's Christmas present, think again! Michigan is full of puppy scams, especially around the holidays.

Over the weekend, amid the howling wind and pouring rain, someone did the unthinkable - abandoned a carboard box full of puppies on the side of the road.

The Bissell Pet Foundation will once again be sponsoring the National Empty The Shelters event this fall, and this year's event will include 8 shelters across West Michigan.
