Spring Forward

This is the weekend... It is time to move the clock ahead one hour and "Spring Forward"!

There are butterflies, boats, basketball, and more on the schedule for this weekend. You will also find hockey games, comedy, concerts, a time change, food and more!

The countdown to Daylight Saving Time is on in Michigan.

On Tuesday, the Senate voted unanimously to pass a bill to make daylight saving time permanent. This could mean no more "springing forward" or "falling back"!

We all change our clocks twice a year -- "spring forward" and "fall back", but have you ever asked "why"?

There are certain indications that spring is going to be here soon. Some of those signs are starting to appear around West Michigan.

This weekend the weather will start to cool down and we "spring forward" with our clocks.

Every year about this time I wait to see some signs that spring is around the corner. Things like seeing the first robin, "springing forward" with our clocks, and of course the opening of our local Dairy Queens.

It looks like we may have an unwelcome visitor next week. Weather forecasting models are suggesting a return of the Polar Vortex next week.

Rep. Michele Hoitenga, R-Manton, introduced a new House Bill that would eliminate the bi-annual time change for Michigan.

LaughFest officially kicks off this weekend. It is also opening weekend for the John Ball Zoo. We also have the Women’s Expo, KISS, Fish Fries, Hockey, Pirates, and a free day at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Also, remember to turn your clocks AHEAD one hour this weekend.

We have outdoor and indoor activities this weekend. There is bobsledding, birthday celebrations, animals at the zoo, concerts, a circus, monster trucks and more. And don’t forget to “Spring Forward” with your clocks this weekend.
