A great future is dependent on a great education. We are very fortunate in West Michigan to have so many schools, administrators and teachers dedicated to providing our youth with opportunities for a bright future. East Kentwood High School math teacher Luke Wilcox is one of those teachers. He has been named the 2017-18 Michigan Teacher of the Year.

TMZ reports that a teacher who attended Garth Brooks' show in Grand Rapids at Van Andel Arena on Thursday night held the 4 millionth ticket ever sold to a Garth Brooks show. The teacher was surprised with a long list of gifts to celebrate the occasion.

So I came across a news story this morning talking about if it's okay for students to add their teacher on facebook as a friend...  This really brings me to lots of questions in general.  Let's think about facebook for a second.

Did you see THIS story...about a teacher in suburban Philadelphia who writes a blog about how the kids in her classes (10th, 11th and 12th grades) are "rude, disengaged, lazy whiners. They curse, discuss drugs, talk back, argue for grades, complain about everything, fancy themselves entitled to whatever they desire, and are just generally annoying."
