The Fifth Third Bank Summer Concert Series at Frederik Meijer Gardens sold out 21 of their 30 concerts on the first day. A few more sold out shortly after, but after tickets went on sale for the public on May 14, Meijer Gardens added additional tickets for some sold out shows.

The Grand Rapids Griffins won the Calder Cup last year. This year they won April Fool's Day.
