With a blizzard warning in effect and a powerful winter storm moving through Michigan, Governor Gretchen Whitmer has activated the State Emergency Operations Center as of 1 p.m. Friday.
Winter in Michigan has only just begun. With record snowfall expected in the coming days, Michiganders wonder whether snow chains are legal on state roadways.

A winter storm is heading for the Mitten State Wednesday through Friday and Michigan State Police are urging southern Lower Peninsula residents to be prepared.
