Due to a brake problem, General Motors are recalling nearly 4 million pickup trucks and SUV's.

According to FOX 17, pressure from the federal government forced GM to recall the vehicles after there had been reports of 113 crashes and 13 injuries related to the issue.

Here is a list of vehicles that fall under this recall:

  • Chevrolet Silverado & GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 & 3500 pickups from the years 2014 - 2018.
  • Cadillac Escalade from the years 2015 - 2017.
  • GMC Yukon and Chevy Surburban and Tahoe from the years 2017 - 2018.

Apparently the problem the brakes on the vehicles is that as they age, there is a pump that assists the brakes that may not put enough to increase the stopping distance creating a risk for a crash.

GM is recalling the vehicles in the U.S. as well as over 300,000 that are in Canada.

GM will not be replacing the pumps but if you have one of the vehicles on the list, take it to your dealership so the engine control computer can be reprogrammed.
