There's a new stop on the "ale trail" between Grand Rapids and the Lakeshore. The first ever brewery in the City of Coopersville is now open.

Plans for Coopersville Brewing Co. starting brewing in summer of 2019. Owner Jeremy Grossenbacher told WZZM-13 at the time,

When I looked at a [brewery] map, and you see all these pins dotting the Grand Rapids area...and they're really starting to get more and more on the lakeshore, there's this big yellow line that's 96 on a map that runs between it – and there's nothing.

Grossenbacher's family owns Fun-N-Sun RV in Coopersville, next door to the new brewery. He told WZZM-13 he decided to name the brewery after the city to give the area more recognition,

I want people to know exactly where they are. I want this to be a community brewery. I want to bring people into Coopersville that otherwise wouldn't have a reason to be here.

Coopersville Brewing Co. at 1275 West Randall Street held its grand opening on Tuesday, April 20.  They share on their Facebook page,

Coopersville Brewing Company is located between here and there. A new fork on the ale trail between Grand Rapids and the Lakeshore. We are community focused and locally sourced.

While the new brewery is not requiring reservations, they say they do strongly recommend them. You can make a reservation here.

Currently, Coopersville Brewing Co. is not serving food, but bar snacks will be coming soon and they say they are looking forward to the opening of One Eyed Pete's, a southern BBQ-inspired restaurant with plans to open next door within the next month or two.

Coopersville Brewing Co. says they are following Ottawa County Health Department's current health and safety guidelines in regard to COVID-19. Masks are required when not seated and parties are limited to six per table.
