The Mitten Brewing Co. and Amore to Open New Restaurant in Rockford

Something delicious is coming to Rockford!

The Mitten Brewing Co. and Amore Trattoria Italiana are teaming up on a new pizza and pasta takeout and delivery joint in Cannon Township.

Mitten co-founder Chris Andrus shared the news to Facebook, saying,

Well, the cat is out of the bag. Max Trierweiler and I, along with our pal Jenna Arcidiacono, have been cooking up something special in Rockford. We're hoping to combine the The Mitten Brewing Co. pizzas you love with selected classic menu items from Amore Trattoria Italiana to create the ultimate carryout/delivery experience. We are also excited to be neighbors with Frosty Boy Rockford!

The new restaurant, Mitten Pizza Co. is set to open at 6051 Belding Rd NE in Rockford in September. Follow the new restaurant on Facebook for updates! 

Since Andrus and Trierweiler opened the original The Mitten Brewing Co. at 527 Leonard St. in Grand Rapids in 2012, they've expanded to include locations in Saugatuck and Northport. A baseball-themed microbrewery and pizzeria that focuses on community involvement and charitable giving, The Mitten Brewing Co. recently teamed up with Trail Point brewing to launch "Things We Don't Say IPA", with proceeds from the new beer helping to fund no-cost mental health services for all Mitten employees.

Chef Jenna Arcidiacono has been serving homemade, locally-sourced, authentic Italian comfort food at Amore at 5080 Alpine Ave. NW in Comstock Park since 2011. Chef Jenna and Amore have raked in tons of awards over the years, including Grand Rapids Restaurant of the Year, Chef of the Year, Best Italian Food, and Best Upscale Restaurant.
