The "Paul Reiser Show" was supposed to be Paul's triumphant return to TV. 10 years after "Mad About You" Reiser was going to come back to NBC and do a "Larry David-type Curb Your Enthusiasm" show for prime time.

Well after 2 weeks, and the lowest ever rated NBC Midseason replacement show, "The Paul Reiser Show" has been cancelled. When I said "lowest rated", I mean it barely had 3 million viewers in it's debut, and only reached 2 1/2 million in the second and final show. More people watched "The Real Housewives of Burton Heights"...I think...

On a sidenote. I watched an episode of "Doogie Howser, MD" a couple of nights ago. Back in the 90's, this was one of a handful of "single camera" sitcoms that were on the air. It wasn't the "in" thing like it is now. A "single camera" sitcom is one that's NOT shot in front of an audience. Like "2 & 1/2 Men" or "How I Met Your Mother". All the single cam sitcoms that are on now, I can't watch ANY of them. I hate em. ALL of them ("Paul Reiser" was one, as is "Community" and "Cougar Town" and "Modern Family")

But I did watch "Doogie" and "Wonder Years" when they were on. I could stand them. Now I can't watch "Curb Your Enthusiasm" or "Entourage"...hate 'em like the Plague!

Here's the story of Paul show going down the tubes and others that came before it...From "AMNew York"...
