Sun Of A Beach Festival Is Friday (WFGR Retrovision) [Video]

You probably have heard by now: Friday is the Sun of a Beach Festival downtown Grand Rapids. 6.5 millions tons of sand (give or take 6.49 millions tons) lots of food and drink and music and fun. But do you remember the TV show with a similar name?

Back in the early '90s, the fledgling FX TV Network made an offer to shock jock Howard Stern: "Make a 'Baywatch' parody and we will show it"

So, he did. It was called "Son of the Beach," starring a middle-aged Timothy Stack as the David Hasselhoff character. It was tacky and terrible and barely lasted a year, but its name is similar to our festival!
