It's the first day of summer, and that means vacation time is on the way.

While some of us may think a perfect summer vacation includes a beach and a margarita, it seems a lot of us are looking for some culture during summer break.

According to the AAA with the U.S. dollar almost equal to the Euro right now, more and more people will be headed to Europe for a summer getaway, In fact, the U.S. Office of Travel & Tourism Industries reports the number of Americans traveling to Europe in 2015 has increased two-point-four percent over last year.

Still, the top two international summer destinations do involve beaches, with Cancun, Mexico topping the list followed by Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

AAA's top international summer destinations are:

  1. Cancun, Mexico
  2. Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
  3. London, England
  4. Rome, Italy
  5. Montego Bay, Jamaica
  6. Dublin, Ireland
  7. Paris, France
  8. Vancouver, British Columbia
  9. Nassau, Bahamas
  10. Edinburgh, Scotland

Of course, some of us will be staying a little closer to home, traveling domestically for our summer vacation, and it seems Disney may be a big draw, with Orlando, Florida being the top domestic summer travel destination, followed by Miami. Interestingly, despite what will likely be oppressive humidity, four cities in Florida made the Top Ten.
