Here's some good news for anyone who hasn't made it out to skate at Rosa Parks Circle this winter,  the city of Grand Rapids just announced they're extending the skating season.

Fox 17 reports the extension was announced Wednesday that you'll be able to ice skate at Rosa Parks Circle Ice Rink until February 28th now. This year, because of the pandemic, in order to skate you have to make a reservation ahead of time to make sure the rink isn't overcrowded, you also do everything outside under tents instead of going into the skate rental office.  Reservation slots for the extended week of skating, which will hopefully be some of the warmer skating weather we've had, went live on the city website today at noon.

Admission to skate at Rosa Parks Circle is $2 with skate rental being free still. You can reserve your spot online HERE through the city website or the old fashioned way, by phone, at 616-456-3696, option 1 - during normal business hours which is Mon-Fri from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm.

From the city's website, here's when the ice rink is open for skating (weather permitting):

Monday: 11 am - 6:00 pm
Tuesday: 11 am - 6:00 pm
Wednesday: Noon - 9:30 pm
Thursday: Noon - 9:30 pm
Friday: Noon - 9:30 pm
Saturday: Noon - 9:30 pm

It's funny because I keep thinking of my friend JJ who thinks ice skating is a great first date, and since he seems to go on a lot of first dates, at least he has his "romantic" plan for a couple more weeks now. Good luck, JJ.
