It's another busy summer weekend of festivals! This week you can find a festival to celebrate the start of summer, an Asian-Pacific Festival, a Cereal Festival, a Music Festival, an Old Car Festival, and even a Hippie Festival. There are also some events to enjoy some craft beer, concerts, food, and a Triathlon.
Thursday, June 9-Sunday, June 12, 2022 - Downtown Rockford, MI Rockford’s Annual Start of Summer Celebration will again feature all the favorites including the carnival, parade, crafters, food vendors, children’s activities, beer tents, live entertainment, fireworks and more! Friday, June 10-Saturday, June 11, 2022 - Calder Plaza, Grand Rapids, MI The City of Grand Rapids presents the 6th annual Grand Rapids Asian-Pacific Festival. This is Michigan's Premier Asian-Pacific Event. You can visit over 40 diverse food and merchandise vendors, along with top entertainment, VIP experiences, and workshops. There will be dedicated interactive areas, photo booths and areas, workshops, and community booths. You can even start the day with morning yoga. Friday, June 10-Saturday, June 11, 2022 - Hackley Park, Muskegon, MI Taste of Muskegon is a celebration of the best Muskegon has to offer! It will be a weekend of taste-size bites from the county's best locally-owned restaurants and food trucks. There will also be live music, great drinks, and more. Saturday, June 11, 2022 - Sixth Street Bridge, Grand Rapids, MI City Built Brewing Company is celebrating their fifth anniversary with live music from six different bands, multiple food trucks, and a dedicated beer fest on the Sixth Street Bridge featuring 12 Michigan breweries. The event will be free to the general public. The celebration will be benefiting The Grand Rapids Public School Foundation. Saturday, June 11, 2022 - Bailey Park, East Lansing, MI Come celebrate life, music, community, and family with East Lansing's favorite outdoor music festival. This is their 12th year. There will be five great bands on the main stage, and 4 great acts on the local stage. The Lansing Area Ukulele Group (LAUGH) will host their monthly Uke Strum! Music, food, art and fun for the entire family! You will also find the best local food vendors, Michigan Shirt Works, a playground, and children's activities. The Grand Rapids Triathlon’s flat, fast course is ideal for both the new and experienced triathlete. You start out with a swim in the Thornapple River. Then you hop on a bike and ride the flat country-road bike course. You then toss your bike aside and run on the scenic, shaded course. This is the largest independent triathlon in Michigan and offers Super Sprint, Sprint, Olympic and Half distances.

The Blind Boys of Alabama are recognized worldwide as living legends of gospel music. They are known for crossing multiple musical boundaries with their interpretations of everything from traditional gospel favorites to contemporary spiritual material. Performing along with the Blind Boys of Alabama will be Marc Cohn.
