All of a sudden the Detroit Lions are one of the hottest teams in the NFL, and as a lifelong Lions fan, I'm not sure how to react.

The Lions Have Won Five Out Of Six After Starting 1-6

It's not just that the Lions are winning suddenly, it's that they're showing signs of being a dominant team. And maybe some of us aren't sure how to handle it. After all, we're used to the Lions breaking our hearts.

So when Kyle Brandt of the NFL Network's Good Morning Football show explained to this audience that the Lions are probably the third best team in the NFC right now, he immediately acknowledged how strange it was to utter those words.

"There's a prejudice, maybe, and a reluctance to accept them because you see that logo and you see that color, and you grew up with the Lions," Brandt said.

And then he added what I was thinking.

"I think Lions fans themselves have it (a reluctance to admit they are good)"

I do, Kyle. I do. I want to believe, and I'm seeing it with my own eyes, but I don't want to get hurt. I guess it's best to just take it one day at a time.

Dan Campbell Is The Man According To Brandt

"He is the man," Brandt said of the Lions head coach, "he was looked at as being a clown and a imbecile and a punchline and a meme....(but now) they hit, they play, they believe, they got it all going on."

They do. And I don't know how to handle it. But I'll learn.
