The Wee Difference organization this month is the Friends & Family of Cystic Fibrosis, a non-profit "composed of volunteers dedicated to raising monies in support of children and adults affected with cystic fibrosis in West Michigan."

Friends & Family of Cystic Fibrosis:

Is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to raising money and awareness for those in our community that suffer with Cystic Fibrosis. Our goal is to bring them a small piece of joy that the disease has taken away. There are several ways we help local families. We bring care packages to the hospital, help pay medical and utility bills, rent and mortgage payments, vitamins, medical equipment, gym memberships and much more. All the money we raise stays here locally to help families right here in West Michigan."

Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited disease that causes thick and sticky mucus to form in the lungs, pancreas and other organs, causing problems with breathing and digestion.

Friends & Family of Cystic Fibrosis' outreach efforts include working with Helen DeVos Children's Hospital's Cystic Fibrosis Care Center in Grand Rapids.

Its big fundraiser is the 17th annual Bid For Bachelors & Bachelorettes, which is Saturday, March 1, at DeVos Place.

Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and bidding begins 7 p.m. Tickets are available online at www.bidforbach.org.
