It's not enough that Pokemon Go players have infiltrated my early morning hours downtown, now they're planning a mass gathering Friday night that may draw over 4,000 people. I hope they have parking spots.

According to the events page on Facebook named 'GR Late Night Pokemon Hunt', over 4500 people have said they will attend tonight's game downtown, which will kick off at 10:30 p.m. The page reads as follows:

Great times, Good People, lots of Pokemon!

Lets make this fun! Wear your team colors!

The point of this event is to just gather together, meet new people and have fun. Nothing special is scheduled, this is just a public gathering.

We will start at Rosa Parks Circle around 10:30pm. There are a decent number of Pokestops in the area. Lots of room for everyone to hang out, meet up with friends, throw some lures up and have an all around good fun time.

It's bound to happen that groups will start to break out and go off hunting around the area. This works great because we will eventually run into each other and we can cover more ground for pokemon this way.

The event has no specified ending time. Last week's event dwindled down and eventually ended around 1am. It's really up to you when you want to arrive and when you want to leave.

It is IMPORTANT to stay SAFE and remember this is a FRIENDLY event. We're all here for one thing: To be the very best, and to catch them all. From the new trainers to the experienced, we're here to have FUN!

Alas, still no cash prices being offered, so I don't think I'll be attending, but happy hunting, I hope you catch 'em all!
