Michigan has some fantastic public universities that are constantly being ranked as some of the best in the country. Time magazine recently ranked the best colleges for your money and three Michigan schools showed up in the top 100.

The ranking is based on 3 major factors: The quality of education, the affordability of the school, and average outcome for a student.

The University of Michigan ranked the highest on this list coming in at #3, with only Princeton University in New Jersey (#1) and CUNY Bernard M Baruch College in New York, New York (#2) ahead of it.

Michigan State University also made an appearance at a respectable #30, beating out schools like Dartmouth College and the University of Texas.

And the last Michigan school to show up in the top 100 is Michigan Technological University at #91.

One other notable finding in this ranking is that both Kalamazoo College (#273) and Madonna University (#288) are better values than Western Michigan University (#510) and Central Michigan University (#615).
