This 1977 promotional video about the old International Hockey League is gold to someone like me who lived the 'Slap Shot; days of the Muskegon Mohawks, Flint Generals, Saginaw Gears, Kalamazoo Wings and the Port Huron Flags.

What a trip back down memory lane to the old IHL, when fights would break out before the game even started, most of the players had scar tissue on their face, and part of a road trip to watch your team in the playoffs included getting beer thrown at you at the Toledo Sports Arena.

And then relish in those fantastic '70s fashion and hairstyles. Yes, kids, your mom did dress like that.

(Don't be overwhelmed by the time of the video, in reality, it's only 8 minutes long.)
