TV Land Renews Cedric the Entertainer’s ‘The Soul Man’ for Fourth Season

TV Land has renewed the comedy "The Soul Man," starring Cedric the Entertainer, for a fourth season of 12 episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The show stars Cedric as an R&B superstar who retires to St. Louis to become a preacher (the Rev. Boyce "The Voice" Ballentine) in his father's church.

Niecy Nash (“Reno 911”) co-stars as Boyce's wife, Lolli.

The character of Rev. Boyce originated on a second season episode of “Hot in Cleveland,” in which Cedric guest-starred.
