While final details have not been hammered out, it appears that the border between the United States and Canada will be temporarily closed to all non-essential travel.

In a Tweet Wednesday morning, President Trump stated that he and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau are working together on this measure. He added assurance that trade would not be affected.

This move is being made in response to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) worldwide.

CNN reports that an official statement on the border closing is expected within the next 24-48 hours.
