The search for a Hamilton man missing since Sunday night, when he was last seen leaving a concert venue downtown has ended with tragedy.

Logan Sweet's Disappearance Sparked A Widespread Search

Michigan State Police have confirmed that the body of Logan Sweet was found Wednesday by a volunteer helping to search areas where he may have traveled. The body was found near the intersection of 32nd Street and 134th Street in Monterey Township in Allegan County, just east of Sweet's home in Hamilton.

It is assumed by authorities at this time that Sweet's Kawasaki 650 motorcycle flew off the highway in a curve and crashed.

A family member posted a statement of gratitude to Reddit Wednesday, thanking the community's out pouring of support, and the efforts made by many who knew Logan, and those who didn't.

Thank you to all who helped in the search for Logan Sweet. The outpouring of support is a testament to the humanity of South West Michigan. He would have been amazed.

Michigan State Police Wayland Post Say The Crash Is Under Investigation

 

A MSP spokesperson confirmed in a press conference Wednesday evening that Sweet's motorcycle was found with the body.

MSP spokesperson Michelle Robinson added that the man who found the body was one of the many volunteers and said "he just felt that he needed to come down here...he also is a motorcyclist and thought well, where would I ride? And found him..."

Sweet Recalled As Lighthearted, Fun Friend

Elizabeth Byers told WZZM-13 that Sweet was a great friend and was loved for his sense of humor and fun loving nature.

"He loved kayaking, he's super goofy. He likes to pick on us and give us crap," says Byers. "We like to dish it back to him too, it's a good time."

The band that Sweet went to see perform Sunday at the Listening Lawn, Tall Heights issued a statement after meeting Sweet following the show:

"Logan Sweet was a bright spot in the crowd that night. Meeting him after the show affirmed his radiance and warmth, and we are so very sorry to his wife, family, and community for this loss. To us, our fans are family, and so we ache with you now from afar."
