Halloween is over and it's officially November meaning the holidays are on people's minds. With that said, it's a busy season and UPS is looking for extra help so they are hosting a "Brown Friday" hiring event on Nov 1st.

UPS is expected to hire 100K people for seasonal work and according to them "That's enough people to populate a city the size of Albany, N.Y." They'll be hosting more than 185 hiring events all across the country for full and part-time positions including package handlers, delivery drivers, and warehouse workers. This includes West Michigan at the following UPS stores:

  • Wyoming: 5757 Clyde Park Ave.
  • Muskegon: 2399 Roberts St.
  • Kalamazoo: 6688 Corporate Woods Dr.

A total of 15 UPS stores in Michigan will be participating on Friday. You can find all the locations here.

If you get hired there's a good chance you could be hired permanently to join the UPS team.

Over the last three years, 35 percent of the people UPS hired for seasonal package handler jobs were later hired in a permanent position when the holidays were over, and nearly a third of our current U.S. workforce started in seasonal positions.

Even more of an incentive, if you're a college student you can sign up for the company's Earn & Learn program and get $1,300 towards college expenses.

You can stop by any time during UPS' hours. If you can't make the hiring event you can still apply here.
