As Christmas rolls around, so will all the magic that goes with it, including kids sending their letters to Santa. This year kids who write Santa in Grand Rapids are going to have an extra chance to have that magic delivered as GR is named one of the cities to be featured in Operation Santa.

What is Operation Santa? Each year the United States Postal Service "sends letters from Santa’s mailroom and answer the ones he can’t."

As I said in the beginning, this year Grand Rapids will be one of the 15 cities that will send the letters they get for Santa, off to Operation Santa, according to WZZM.

If you're interested in helping Operation Santa this year, you just need to jump over to the USPS Operation Santa website, there you can read through the letters and "adopt" any of the ones that speak to you.

Here's how it works, from USPS Operation Santa:

  • Look through letters and adopt ones you love.
  • Find the perfect gift, and keep it anonymous— it's from Santa, after all.
  • Pack your gifts in a box using our shipping guidelines.
  • Bring the gift and postage to a participating Post Office™ by December 21.

Easy peasy and you get to help keep the "magic" alive; I love it!
