The 'Dumb and Dumber' star has been a musician longer than he's been an actor, and now he's penned a tribute to his childhood hero.

Daniels has written many songs about the joys of growing up in Michigan, and the Detroit Tigers have been the subject of his songs before, so it's hardly a surprise that he would sing about Tiger Hall of Famer Al Kaline, who passed away on April 6.

The song, which channels Bruce Springsteen's 'Nebraska' sound circa 1982, reminisces about Tiger things like anticipating Free Bat Day, pretending you were Kaline in backyard games, and the includes the haunting lyric 'my childhood hero died today along with a little bit of me'.
